Twins In Tow

Motherhood In a Mountain Town

Tis the Season

Tis the Season… for EVERYTHING. So it goes when you have Christmas birthdays. All the big stuff happens at the same time and we better get used to it!

We are not strangers to Christmas birthdays in our family. My brother was born just after Christmas so he has been getting the ‘Merry Birthmas’ combo gift much of his life. Now that I have Christmas Kids myself – I vow to send my brother a birthday gift  that is not wrapped in Christmas paper…

So, we are smack dab into the festive season and have a couple of exciting events to document. One is a visit from Vecmamma (how we say grandmother in Latvian), a ride on the Polar Express and a 2nd Birthday Party.

But first let’s start with a visit to Santa!

The Polar Express train ride to the North Pole was fun. It wasn’t much of a day for sightseeing (rain, rain, go away!) but it was exciting to see the wonder and amazement in the boys as they entered the train yard and then climbed ‘All Aboard!!’  And of course, lots of Choo! Choo! could be heard as we chugged along.

And here are a few photos from the rest of Vecmamma’s visit. Trains are a theme these days! Both A and K love this wooden train made of ‘pieces’ that Vecmamma brought and as you can see – were not very happy when it fell apart! It’s OK we can FIX IT!

It snowed enough to get out on the toboggan a few times and although K wasn’t really feeling the snowman thing, the photo is a snaphot in time. Cranky K  – what can we say!

Next Up – Second Birthday, Another Visit with Santa and a Sleigh Ride!
