It has been so long since I have posted, I almost don’t know where to begin. Photos, stories, anecdotes?! All I know is that the past few weeks have seen many milestones in our lives with The Princes. Thank Grandpa for that descriptor. He came up with it while I was away on business and it made me smile. Away for the first time since the princes came to be and although it was tough, it was also good. Everyone survived and they had a great time with their dad. It was boy bonding at its finest and I got to spend some time among peers and with a dear friend in southern california for a few days. Who is complaining? Certainly not me.
More and more, our interactions with the boys are becoming rational. I can ask them to do things like ‘turn on the lights’ or ‘bring me your cup’, ‘go find your shoes’ and best of all ‘put this back!’ That doesn’t mean we are immune from tantruming or irrational mismatched boot wearing but now you can see the lights on. The wheels are turning and there is serious cognitive reasoning going on! It is so fun to watch. Being introduced to ‘the moon’ was a big one and now ‘owls’. Just in time for Halloween everything is ‘scayweee – a.k.a. scary’ and boy do we love pumpkins!
We are gearing up for some Halloween fun – hopefully it doesn’t rain or snow but the weather has been horrid here so I will expect both. Life is too busy at the moment. I know that will change but for now we have to hunker down and embrace the fleeting moments of toddler cuddliness and foot stomping as they twine themselves around work and much maligned sleep.
‘2’ is coming. Somehow being ‘2’ seems so big…
Love KpS

Funny – when you wrote ‘two’ I read ‘two children’ but you meant ‘two years’! – Both a challenge really but cuteness definitely goes a long way to making it fun
