Twins In Tow

Motherhood In a Mountain Town

Rational Hypochondria

So once again it’s been a long time since an update. I won’t belabor my working mom woes.

Some funny things have gone by un-documented and unless we are Facebook friends you probably haven’t seen any photos or videos of the boys lately, especially this gem!

I do have to share this one funny little anecdote. Last Monday I woke up sore and tired and wondered what I had done to myself over the years to be so creaky. Did I finally have arthritis? Was I suffering from some kind of muscle degenerating disease?

Ahhh- What was Wrong with Me?!

I had forgotten something very fundamental to sore leg muscles early in December. I had totally forgotten that the day before I had dragged my sorry butt out of bed and up and down a mountain. That recreational event not involving my husband or my kids had been completely wiped out of my memory and replaced with completely irrational hypochondria! Well, let’s face it: there probably aren’t many examples of ‘rational’ hypochondria out there – are there?

Maybe it was because after my little morning ski, grandma arrived from the other side of the country for the first time in months and was already waiting for a pick-up, maybe because that afternoon we took the Polar Express to the North Pole. This stand-alone rail adventure was then followed by dinner in beautiful Squampton and a boat load of big-box shopping before finally venturing north and homeward in the dark and the driving rain and snow.

It is also quite plausible that my morning was overshadowed by the final and very gooey 15 vomit stenched minutes of the trip followed by a full scale toddler and vehicle sanitization before I finally and thankfully crawled back into bed. I suppose it could have been any but most likely all of those things that wiped my ski memory clean.

The day’s morning seemed like another dimension ago but boy did I laugh when I finally remembered why my legs were so sore.

Life’s  equations used to be so simple: Winter = Ski = Sore Legs. Easy! Now there is so much in between, I forget where I started.

Polar Express, Santa and Birthday photos to follow! Here is one to kick us off.

It is already that time of year again!!

Love
